CHANGE the topic of the soundscape

My original plan of the soundscape is recording in the Disneyland France. I also have recorded for nearly 1 hour in the Disneyland. However, the quality of the sound is not really good and I am not satisfied with it. I have do some serious reflections on it. First of all, I use Marantz PMD-661to record. Unlike Sennheiser K6, the noise-reduction of the Marantz PMD-661is not as good as it. The fur of it could play a part in noise-reduction. I don't mean that Marantz PMD-661 can not record the sound in a noisy environment, but the Sennheiser K6 will be better. Secondly, I made a technological mistake, which I set the recording volume too high. This leads I records some hiss noise and electricity noise.

Plan A
ZSL London Zoo

It is the first zoo established in the world.

Through the research, I thought I would collect these kinds of sound:
l   People talking, walking, running, laughing (kids crying…)
l   The wind blowing through plants
l   The sounds of a variety of animals
l   Water (fountain)
l   Some indoor sounds which indicate the space
l   Clock (someone on the website said there is a delicate clock with hourly chime function)
l   PA (to identify it is the zoo)
l   The whirligig

l   Staff with a speaker in an event

Plan B
Isabella Plantation

The Isabella Plantation is a 40 acre woodland garden set within a Victorian woodland plantation planted in the 1830's. First opened to the public in 1953, it is best known for its evergreen azaleas, which line the ponds and streams and at their peak of flower in late April and early May.

The sound I would collect:
l   People talking, walking, running, laughing (kids crying…)
l   The wind blowing through plants
l   The sounds of birds, bats and insects
l   Water

Plan C
Nymans Garden

Romantic ruins, intimate gardens, and internationally recognised plant collections against a backdrop of Wealden woodland - Nymans is a garden lover's paradise. Follow footpaths through the woodland or blaze your own trail - the woodland is a designated SSSI and home to a large variety of plants and wildlife.

The sound I would collect:
l   People talking, walking, running, laughing (kids crying…)
l   The wind blowing through plants
l   The sounds of birds
l   Water
l   Some indoor sounds which indicate the space

Finally,I chose to record in the zoo London as there would be more kinds of sounds. I recorded sounds on 13th April. Things are going great and I got clear sounds without too much noise this time. However, there are not too many animals' sounds actually. Large animals like tigers, lions, giraffes usually don't make a sound. So I mainly recorded sounds of birds. Maybe I would focus doing a soundscape of bird safari. What's more, the clock doesn't ring as I expected. Happily, I recorded the clear water sounds this time! I have tried it before. but it always noisy. I also recorded the sound of PA which would be worthy of editing.
